Black day

This morning I took Mickey to the doctor. He is sick. Very sick. There is a treatment, but I won´t be able to give it to him. It requires me to give him two insuline injections per day. With my work hours, that´s impossible.
If I don´t give him the injections he will die. The doctor said it will be quick. She gave him another three months. He´ll go blind. His kidneys will fail and one day he´ll just drop dead.
Another option is to give him away, but there´s not a large market for a diabetic cat.

I cried at the doctor. I cried on my way home. I just can´t stop crying.
I have no kids. No partner. I love my cat to death.
I don´t want to lose Mickey.

I can't believe this, Bulb! This is so devastating. I am really sorry to know that. Can't you find someone who could admnistrate the shots while you're away at work???
I wish you found someone, man!
My prayers to you,

Bulb, I am saddened by this news. I live quite close, but I am traveling starting tomorrow and work long hours. But if I can help with the shots, just let me know.
I will be back second week March.

And can I please send Mickey an energyhealing? I have good references..(not kidding this time).

Oh man, that just totally sucks balls.

I gather that the injections have to be given with certain time intervals, it being insulin. Damn.

I could find a home for your cat here…my girlfriend Nancy is diabetic and so is her cat, Tom. Nancy is on the pump, her injections are automatic when she needs them, old Tom’s are administered. I know, that doesn’t help you one bit.

I’m sorry.

Hey, where there is a will there is a way…you WILL find a solution. I got faith in ya.

I'm so sorry for you and Micky. Micky's blog inspired mijn. I'm sure my human would gladly help with the shots - ogre that it is - but we live too far away.

I know there are companies here that will give your cat the shots. For instance, I use to work for a dog walking company and once I had an assignment where I had to go give a cat insulin shots twice a day. If there is not a company, maybe an individual that takes care of animals. You can find someone, I am sure of it! Good luck!

Yo Bulb. I lost my little love, Mary Jane, last year, on Thanksgiving. I still miss her so much. Cats are like us though, they hate being sick. Micky's love for you is unconditional and eternal, bro.

My best thoughts to both of you.

I had a diabetic cat once. its very easy to take care of them. you give them one shot in the morning, and one in the evening. what hours do you work that this wont work for you?

and i would take him for you if you wern't in another country, i honestly would.

my cat lived a decent life on insulin, till she got cancer, so if you can find a away to do the shots, he should be fine.....

I am so sorry to hear about your cat. I can only imagine how attached you must be to him. I had a friend who had a diabetic dog that she went home over her lunch hour to give injections to him.

Weigh your options carefully. You might also consider going ahead and getting another pet to give you time to bond with it in the event you lose "Mickey". It might make your impending loss a little easier
