Insult to Injury

When planes flew into the WTC there was a deafening silence from the east. (Apart from some joyful shouting and AK's being fired in the air.) After the London bombings there was once again a deafening silence from the east. (Apart from.....) When my favorite columnist and cineast Theo van Gogh was murdered, no muslim apologised.
A couple of months ago a Danish newspaper published some cartoons of Muhammed, self-proclaimed prophet and founder of islam. Embassies have been closed, Danish products are being boycotted all over the middle east. The paper and it's employees have recieved bomb- and deaththreats. In Indonesia a large group of muslims stormed the Danish Embassy, and armed gunmen raided the European diplomatic mission in the Palestinian territories.

This picture was taken on februari 1st 2006 at Ground Zero!!!
If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem. I for one vow to only drink Carlsberg and Tuborg beer from now on. Now excuse me, I have to go piss on the koran.

I'm pretty open to all religions and love to learn about the various beliefs. The muslim faith was no different for me. I gladly accepted a copy of the Q'ran from a dear friend of mine.
It teaches hate, violence and prejudism. What else can you say about it?
People talk about the "extremist" but evil is evil.

What is more interesting is how this timeless cycle of "Them versus US" continues, with each party acting and feeling all righteous whilst the devil and all else that should be condemned is safely and perfectly casted out in a projection onto the Damned OTHER.

I'm not interested in details of who did what, I am interested in the universal patterns and themes.

I won't even begin to blog about the archetypes of the negative Sage (truth is on my side and if you disagree you will be sorry etc) that is so overwhelmingly apparent in our human heritage.

The way I see it, we are all guilty and we are all innocent as far as we don't really listen to each other and would rather stereotype each other.

Most religions are stuck in the negative sage archetype (who is hung up on absolute truths) and are not really in touch with the Inner Fool archetype (the one who makes fun of HIMSELF or who does honest inquiry)..

It's sad and twisted we can't just stop the projections and scapegoating and stereotyping!

Sorry Bulb, I would invite you for a Heineken or a Grolsch..Or perhaps a cup of religion free tea, if I wasn't so busy..But sending you some positive energy..:-) (as always)

The truth is a snare: you cannot have it, without being caught. You cannot have the truth in such a way that you catch it, but only in such a way that it catches you.”

I add AMEN..let's pray for ourselves..that we may see the reality of ourselves in the mirror of relationships with our "enemies".

I hate to think that an entire group of people are evil. But I’ve never read the Koran.

I’ve worked for Islamic people (who were living in the US) as an event photographer. I found their ways of doing things difficult to understand. Honestly, it was exasperating to do business with them, because they constantly try to renegotiate the deal I had made with them.

I thought the constant covering of the women was stupid and as a bareheaded American I began to feel over exposed.

But within the group were many kind and helpful people who did their best to put me at ease.

I still cling to the belief that there are decent people in all cultures, but I understand your righteous indignation and anger.

You use a lot of words, but don't understand the post. I am not talking about religion. I am not talking about "them and us". I'm talking about a political philospopy of slavery, rape and death whose main victims over the years have been those unfortunate enough to be born in it.

The koran occupies an honorable place in my bookcase next to "Mein Kampf".

All it takes for evil to triumph is for good people to do nothing.

When your dealing with evil, it's time to get rid of the herbal tea and yoga outfit and start loadiing your gun. (Or pen.)

Maybe you should study the subject matter a little. People don't take kindly when Hitler is praised. A few years from now, people are not going to take kindly to people praising Muhammed.

The evil that is islam can not be truly fathomed by those who have not studied it themselves.

(And yes I'm pissed off.)

Fuck! This really pisses me off. Suppose you get assraped in a dark alley. What are you going to say?

"What is more interesting is how this timeless cycle of "Them versus US" continues, with each party acting and feeling all righteous whilst the devil and all else that should be condemned is safely and perfectly casted out in a projection onto the Damned OTHER.
" ?????

You gonna threaten him with archetypes? "Hey buddy watch it or I'll get my archetypes out?"

Jesus! This pisses me off!

Bulb, I never studies Islam, instead I dated Muslim men who all had different takes on the religion. I never wanted to study the Islam because to me it was just as black and white as Christianity.
I think it´s unfair to see `evil` in Islam as a whole without looking at the Crusades for instance. Everything has it´s shadow but we can only find it when we deal with our own shadow first.
Honey, not trying to make you even more pissed off though..

Thanks for pissing me off even more.
So now Christianity is evil because of the Crusades. I hope you studied Christianity and the Crusades. Instead of just flouting more politically correct yoga-babble like you do about islam.
The crusades were a war of self-defence. Jihad was in fullswing. Islamic (forceful) expansion and colonialism had overrun Spain and they were at the gates of Vienna.
Comparing Christianity (a religion) with islam (a political cult) is like comparing apples and archetypes. Besides, the crusades had nothing to do with Jesus. Where did Jesus say "Go ye on a Crusade?" A large part of the koran deals with conquest and jihad. (And no! There is no such thing as "peaceful jihad" in the koran. That is just taqqiyah.)
But then again you might know more about it. You probably dated a Christian, the pope and a couple of crusaders.
Girl I'm not the one who seeing everything in black and white. You're the one who's seeing everything white. All good. Flowers everywhere. Archetypes and little butterflies galore.

Are we not overjoyed that we live in a world where there is free speech? My ancestors fled China because people were killing each other because they dares have other opinions. Whenever I vist China and I happen to have a book that critcizes China, my parents make sure I get rid of that book.
I don't know anything about islam and christianity, nor anything..

I am just a girl/woman who likes to theorize, when you kill my beloved, I will get a gun and kill you..I am no different than anybody. As far as I know Jesus and Nelson Mandela (add Victor Frankl) are extra-ordinary men, I can only hope that just 0,1% of great teachings are understood by myself.

Bulb, I am going to piss you off even more by hugging you next time I meet you..we live 5 mins from each other..(so have your gun ready).

(I'm disregarding all the management trainings where I was taught: when somebody is livid, you don't dispute them..I am Foolish after all).
